Metallic Epoxy Garage Floors in San Diego County
Metallic epoxy uses special pigments that are worked into the coating while it's wet, so the finished floor has depth and movement, and no two floors are alike. We install metallic floors for garages across Oceanside and North County San Diego.
A metallic floor is the one people stop and look at. Metallic pigments are mixed into the epoxy and moved around during application, creating a three-dimensional finish that can look like marble, flowing lava or liquid metal. It starts with a design conversation about colors and effects, then careful preparation for a smooth, well-bonded base, then the metallic coat itself, and finally a clear protective topcoat that seals the design in under a high-gloss finish.

What a metallic epoxy floor is
A metallic floor is an epoxy coating with reflective pigments in it. While the coating is still workable, the installer moves the material with rollers, brushes and tools to create swirls, veining and depth. As it levels and cures, the pigments settle into a pattern that catches the light differently from every angle.
That hands-on step is why no two metallic floors look the same, and why the result depends so much on the installer. The colors you choose, how many are used and how they are worked together decide whether the floor reads as polished stone, a molten swirl or something bolder.
Underneath the artwork, it is still a garage floor. The concrete is ground and cleaned, the metallic coat is applied over a prepared base, and a clear topcoat seals the design in and takes the everyday wear.
Where a metallic floor makes sense
A metallic floor turns the garage into a showpiece, so it suits a car collection, a home gym or a garage that doubles as a living space.
The epoxy under the design resists oil, chemicals, abrasion and impact, so the floor isn't reserved for a room nobody uses. The surface is non-porous, so spills wipe up, and a sweep and a mop keep the shine without waxing.
One thing to plan for: a high-gloss floor can be slippery when it's wet. If yours will see water tracked in from the driveway, ask us about adding texture to the topcoat for grip.
Planning and installing a metallic floor

It begins with a free visit to your garage. We look at the slab and talk through the look you're after, so we've agreed on the colors and the overall effect before we start.
Clear the garage out before installation day; we need the whole floor. We grind and clean the concrete for a smooth base and handle any repairs. Then the metallic coat goes down and is worked into the design while it's still wet, and once it has set, the clear protective topcoat seals it.
We look over the finished floor with you before we leave. Walking and parking on it both wait until the coating has cured; we'll tell you when that is for your floor and how to care for it.
Questions & Answers
Will my floor look exactly like the photos?
It will be in the same style, but every metallic floor is unique, because the pigments are worked by hand and settle differently each time. We agree colors and the overall effect with you before we start.
Is a metallic floor slippery?
A high-gloss finish can be slippery when wet. For garages that see water or oil, we can add texture to the topcoat for better grip.
Can I choose the colors?
Yes. You choose from a range of metallic colors and effects during the design conversation.
Is metallic epoxy tough enough for a working garage?
Yes, with one trade-off: it resists oil, chemicals and abrasion like any epoxy floor, but a smooth, high-gloss surface shows scratches and dust more than a flake floor does.
